NEW SATELLITE TV PACKAGE WILL BE AVAILABLE IN IRKUTSK AREA

WWW Irkutsk: On May 25, 2000 the leading Russian pay-TV company NTV Plus launched a new satellite, Eutelsat-W4, from Cape Canaveral. The new satellite will serve the European part of Russia. The satellite Bonum-1 will be moved to a new position 54 degrees east in July-August 2000. This will allow inhabitants of the Irkutsk area to watch Pay-TV channels from NTV.

The NTV package includes domestic entertainment and news channels, as well as such internationally known channels as Hallmark, Fox Kids, Discovery (all channels) , BBC World, CNN International, MTV (Russian edition), and others.

The company Memonet, a daughter company of NTV, is to launch Satellite internet service with download rates up to 2 Mbit/sec.

NTV announced the new services are to be available in Irkutsk area starting September 2000.
