My name is Samuel Sinner [Samuel Richardovich Zinner]. At the
University of Nebraska at Lincoln (USA) I am writing my Ph.D.
dissertation on Petr Ivanovich Zinner (1879-1935), the father of Ervin
Petrovich Zinner who published several books on literature and folklore
in the 1960s-1990s at the Irkutsk State Pedagogical Institute.
I am seeking a contact in Irkutsk who could give me information
about E. P. Zinner, if he is still alive and where his relatives may
live at present, and other information about the life and scholarly
career of E. P. Zinner. Petr Ivanovich Zinner
was my grandfather's cousin and in the 1930s the relatives in America
lost touch with the Zinner family in Russia, including Kamilla, Alfred,
Helmut, and Margaret Zinner. P. I. Zinner died in the Gulag. My request is therefore of a personal and not only
scientific nature. Any help anyone can give me will be greatly
appreciated.
